Homemade also lets you avoid the malls, the driving, the stress.... well, there&#039;s still the stress of making things on a deadline, but handcrafting can be way more fun than shopping.  And for those who do have little cthulhus around the house, it&#039;s a good way to get them involved in the giving spirit (assuming you like and want to keep the giving spirit).

I agree that the holiday is overcommercialized, but there are definitely ways to enjoy the festive sentiments without buying into (pun intended) the consumerist regimes.

Hmm.  Regifting swaps may be a useful idea for more than once a year....  interested?</description>
