Upgrade, at last

I just upgraded WordPress to version 2.9. It’s a bit trickier than can be handled by Dreamhost’s one-click install – as I started this blog in one directory and moved it to another – so I had to do a manual install.
And yet, I seem not to have broken anything! Please poke around the site and confirm that this is true?

The nice thing about the newer versions of WordPress (since 2.7 maybe?) is that they can update themselves with a built-in one-click tool. I haven’t used Dreamhost’s updater in a long time. Because it is internal to the tool, I see it every time I log in to the dashboard, and it should also handle your modified installation system a lot cleaner than Dreamhost’s tool, and a lot simpler than manual upgrade.
Yeah, so Nat told me. Unfortunately I was running 2.6 (I think?) so I did have to do it by hand. From now on out it should be easier, though.
I did a quick series of random clicks around the main page and archives while rocking Jack. Everything looks good, and no links appear broken.
I’m looking forward to more updates this year. ^_^ You’re how I found Unclutter, for example; and living simpler is a goal of mine.
